The cover of the newest edition of Ulysses Guide to Hiking in Ontario features the La Cloche Silhouette Trail, a 110km (62mi) loop at Killarney Provincial Park.
I'm very happy that this guide is printed on recycled paper, something that was technically difficult, but well-worthwhile. Ulysses has also decided to offer digital versions of the entire guide or individual chapters. I love working with a company that really cares about serving its customers ethically.
This edition includes long trails on the colour map, somthing that I think will be particularly useful for people looking for good places to explore from specific locations.
The guide begins with lots of great lists to direct you to places you want to explore most. The "recommended hike" list direct keeners who want to explore my favourite trails, while others list hikes featuring scenic views from above, those on or beside impressive sand dunes and trails that feature waterfalls. Those who want to see animals, or prefer hiking through specific scenery, such as wetlands or forests are also directed via lists.
I hope you enjoy my latest baby and that it encourages you to enjoy exploring the trails of Ontario as much as I do.
